We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Engineer to keep our physical infrastructure running like a well-oiled machine. Since we don’t use cloud services, you’re the person setting up hardware in our datacenters, installing virtual machines, administering on-prem services, managing Active Directory, deploying laptops, running cables, and much more.

You are customer-service minded, where your "customers" are the employees of the company, and you balance a security-first mindset with the ability to work efficiently because the operations team plays a critical role in maintaining our ISO 27001 certification.

We’re confident there’s plenty to learn, but you do bring 2-5 years of experience and a solid foundation in servers, networking, and general administration, along with a desire to contribute your ideas and perspective to the team.

Operations Engineer

As an Operations Engineer at Conference Manager, you are responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing our physical and virtual infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and operating systems, to ensure high availability, performance, and security for our SaaS platform.

Core Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to ensure our on-premise IT infrastructure reliably supports the performance, scalability, and security of our SaaS product, while also meeting the operational needs of our employees.

You will work with:

• Design, deploy, and maintain robust on-premise server, storage, and networking infrastructure to support the SaaS product across multiple datacenters.

• Collaborate with development, security, and support teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business and technical requirements.

• Implement and enforce best practices for system administration, security, and performance optimization.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues to ensure high availability and reliability of the SaaS platform.

• Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using scripting and configuration management tools.

• Plan and execute capacity scaling, disaster recovery, and backup strategies to meet business continuity needs.

• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions for on-premise infrastructure.

• Continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and documentation processes for operational efficiency.

• Provide IT support for employees, resolving everyday issues like logon problems, printer malfunctions, firewall blocks and other technical hiccups.

Your background

We’re looking for someone with 2-5 years of professional experience in one or more relevant areas, ideally from a similar role. You have a solid foundation in some areas and are eager to deepen your expertise in others. You likely hold a Computer Science Technician with a Specialization in Infrastructure degree (or equivalent) and bring patience and clarity when helping colleagues with varying levels of IT skills.

Your team

You join the Operations team, composed of Operations and Platform Engineers, working closely with our full-stack teams to design, deploy, and maintain platforms for production, staging, and development environments.

Requirements

To fulfill this role, it is an absolute requirement that you are eligible to obtain and maintain a PET security clearance at the NATO Secret level.
